COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERNSHIP

Brighter Lives BTL, Inc. is a startup nonprofit organization that works to do just that–brighten lives. This organization was created to improve the lives of those who have been overlooked by forming initiatives and programs through which members advocate for the advancement of their everyday lives. This is a service-oriented organization, which will work alongside other entities to provide an improved quality of life to communities that are under-resourced. Brighter Lives BTL, Inc. focuses on five target issues, which include, but are not limited to economic inequality, educational inequality, identity-based discrimination, political involvement, and youth empowerment & recreation.

The Community Outreach Intern will be responsible representing the organization and communicating with our target communities. This position ensures all policies, objectives, and initiatives for this organization pertaining to the target community are adhered to and executed. This position also maintains organizational knowledge of community issues, thoughts, and solutions. This position will be fully remote, and more information about physical location will be provided, if necessary. We are currently hiring for Spring 2021 but, there is possibility for permanent position with organization. The following are the basic responsibilities of this position:

  • Researching the conditions of our target communities regularly

  • Informing Brighter Lives BTL administration about target communities needs and goals, as prescribed from their data

  • Preparing reports and presentations to display research for potential donors and other interested entities

  • Search for individuals and other organizations to form partnerships with BTL

  • Collaborate on and execute several strategic media plans to spread awareness and increase participation in our organization

  • Evaluate donor and member relations protocols and practices*

Qualifications: 

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university (any year/classification) during course of internship

  • Proficiency in Google Workplace (Doc, Sheets, Slides, Drive primarily)

  • Access to computer/tablet/etc. with internet access

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and/or similar software preferred

  • Self-motivated and passionate individuals who bring their personality and imagination to their roles

  • Excellent and in-depth research ability

  • Dedication to our work required

  • Collaborative work and leadership style

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience with information storage, analysis, and public speaking a plus

  • Unrelenting creativity, innovation, and enthusiasm required!

Part Time: 10-19 hours/week

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10AM to 6PM but subject to availability
