Brighter Lives BTL, Inc. is a startup nonprofit organization that works to do just that–brighten lives. This organization was created to improve the lives of those who have been overlooked by forming initiatives and programs through which members advocate for the advancement of their everyday lives. This is a service-oriented organization, which will work alongside other entities to provide an improved quality of life to communities that are under-resourced. Brighter Lives BTL, Inc. focuses on five target issues, which include, but are not limited to economic inequality, educational inequality, identity-based discrimination, political involvement, and youth empowerment & recreation.

The Programs Intern will be integral in the coordination of programs and service events the organization holds. We're looking for a team player who can contribute to program delivery, and quality control through evaluation.This position is also tasked with brainstorming program opportunities and proposals. This position will be fully remote, and more information about physical location will be provided, if necessary. We're currently hiring for Spring 2021 but there is possibility for a permanent position with organization. The following are the basic responsibilities of this position:

  • Proposing and collaborating on programs and service events of the organization

  • Maintaining member/volunteer relations

  • Assisting in volunteer selection and assignments for all programs and service events

  • Evaluating programs and events for quality control and improvement

  • Reviewing and consulting on program and event proposals from partners and/or external individuals

  • Preparing monthly updates and evaluation reports of programs for Executive Board members and organizational administration

  • Maintaining a programs and events calendar, both internal and external


  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university (any year/classification) during course of internship

  • Proficiency in Google Workplace (Doc, Sheets, Slides, Drive primarily)

  • Access to computer/tablet/etc. with internet access

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and/or similar software preferred

  • Self-motivated and passionate individuals who bring their personality and imagination to their roles

  • Experience in event and/or program planning and execution required

  • Previous work with nonprofit organizations a plus

  • Collaborative work and leadership style

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills

  • Close attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines required

  • Unrelenting creativity, innovation, and enthusiasm required!

Part Time: 10-19 hours/week

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10AM to 6PM but subject to availability
